Doctr Carmichael & Son

Gentlemen

We have rec.d
your esteemed favor of the 15' inst - you
will much oblige us by making another
attempt to get good security on Middletons
notes - and if you [do] not succeed immediately,
put them in the hands of your attorney to
bring suit before the sitting of your next
Court which we believe will be in next
month - we presume your Attorney is
of course attentive and diligent in making
the money, and will be punctual in remitting.
They will probably give him good judgement
bonds - you will direct him to adopt
such measures as will secure the claim
and make the money as speedily as possible

Please send the Lawyers receipt for the notes,
you will oblige us by paying the amt of
fees we owe Mr Berry and send his receipt -
also ask Mr Briggs attorney whether he ever
will get any thing for H. Keerl & Sons
claim.
