My dear Friend
The medecene say Calomel, Salts &c that you gave to
little Somerville operated very freely untill about 11 O'Clk last night
-She continuedandDrowsy and torpid thro the day either from
debility or from the Dovers powder you had given to her - occasionally
a little delirious - about 12 O'Ck last night she had a slight moi=
sture on her skin, the fever abated and we think her better
Still her cough is excessively troublesome, tight and distressing-
-she does not expictorate or spit up any thing which makes us
uneasy - we give her the mixture you gave me when in Town for
her and the flaxseed Tea regularly, that mixture is nearly out
when it is out we suppose that you intend us to give her in the
same quantities from the phial you sent back to us - we
are something as a loss about this-I gave her the Dover's powder last night
as directed - she does some today but is not so drowsy as
yesterday -She has now at 2 OClk a passage, we
presume from the powder given to Her last night - She
now complains of headache - great distress about the
Breast. My Daughter thinks it from the Sores of the Blisters
out side. Her mother fears it may be internal - she has
not eat one mouthfull less or more for Eight days -
with respectfull Esteem I am truly yr. friendTho. Strode
