Dear Sir.

We have a Negro Man
who was taken sick the day before
yesterday, with a pain in the head
and neck and fever, we yesterday
Morning gave him an Emetic, which
puked him but little, but purged
him very much; he lay all day per=
fectly inanamate and indifferent to
every thing, and it was with some
difficulty he could be roused and
made to speak. He this morning
seems to be rather better, complains
of no pain, and that drowsy, torpid
state he was in yesterday is worn
off in a Measure, but still has a
considerable degree of fever. Will
thank

thank you to send by the bearer
such Medicine as will afford him
relief. And you will much Oblige

Your Obedient

Brodie S. Hull

P. S. I am not certain the Medicine
given him yesterday produced
the effect on the bowels alluded
to above, or whether it was a natu=
ral effect; it has subsided in [a] great
measure, he was up only once last
night.
