Dear Sir

Mr. Tho.s Briggs requests that you will give
your opinion & advice in the case of the [his ] child -
which is about 15 months old, at about a fort=
night old a number of red spots appeared on his
cheeks, which soon assumed the appearance of
ulcers & from which a kind of yellow water
was discharged, his head broke out in the
same way, his shoulders arms hips & hands &
feet became alike affected, they have
given it medicine, but without effect --

The medicine they have given him
has been Sulpher Magnesia, Cream Tartar
& rubbed with Mercurial Ointment & a
preparation of Brimstone, if these afford
any relief - it is but temporary - and now
in addition to the erruption, under his arms
& about his groins - are lumps or Rumals

Respecy & C

C. George

If from the above description
Mr. Briggs wished M.rs Short
to see you who c.d perhaps
describe the case more particularly
