Jany. 30
th. 1822Dear Sir,
I proceeded with the medicine you
left with me according to your directions
with the exception of commencing with
the tinctur in the phiol, which was
to be commenced after the salts had ope
-rated, but they not operating so quick
as I thought they ought to have done,
which was not until the night after
I had taken them, proceeded to take the
stuff in the phiol about ten oclock
in the morning. I had two or three dis
-charges of urine in the course of the night
you left me, all of which did not con
-sist of more than two or three tablespoon
-fulls. since that a few drops, three or four
times have come, the last which was about
nine oclock at night just before this was
written was bloody. I feel sore & painful
in the lower part of my bowels, & am fearful
what has been done will not releave me
the medicine in the phiol will be out to
night, you can judge of what I may require,
& do what you may think best.Yours with esteem.
