Dr Sirs.

On the 20th Inst Robert was
taken with the bilious intermittant
fever preceded with a slight chill,
the commencement of the paroxysms
were irregular and their duration
unequal, varying from 12 to 48 hours.

After being repeatedly evacuated
by cathartus Pernetus, the chills have
left him, the paroxysms mitigated,
fever not so high, but often fluctuating
during the continuance of it, a
heat succeeding a ture &c -- the
fever of saturday & sunday last was
slight; on sunday another dose
of calomel was given & we consider
ed him much better, fever returned
yesterday after an interruption
of 12 hours, & he was very restless &
peevish a while; not so comfort
able as the preceding fever, but
is comforted this morning tho
fevered sill and disposed to sleep

Dr Buck attended him, as he is
now in London, Dr Clossler is sent
for-- It is difficult to get Robert
to take bark or Tonic, of bark, will
you send some quinine, or chemi
cal preparation of bark. -- Helen
& myself are very uneasy about Robert-

Will [you] send such directions as
may be required In haste
