I send you up this urine my
dear sir that has passed from me
during the last two days, and one
night. I pass but little at a time, and
that with great difficulty, and only
when I stand up. There has been no
appearance of blood, since I saw you. I have
had a good deal of pain and soreness
about my right side, extending round
to that side [of the small] of my back. I can move
but very little about, I am becoming
so very weak. I take the medicine you
gave me constantly, and regularly. I
will try to come up if I get better. You
will please excuse this scrawl for
my hand is so weak and shakey
so I can hardly write

I have a frequent desire to make water
and get up some times 10 or 12 times of a
nightPlease give my love to Mrs. Carmichael and
