Gentlemen

I have before me your esteemed
favour of the 23d. inst - in which you mention
having transmitted me your draft on
Baltimore for 160-75/100 Dollars, on the 2nd.
June 1821; & which you say left a balance
to your credit, after paying your account,
of 22. 59/100 Dollars, in which I believe you
are mistaken as you will find by referring
to both your own letter, and mine of
that date the 4th. of the same month, ack-
nowledging receipt of the same, - The Balance
then due from you was 161.17/100 Dollars, for
which I had drawn on, and advised you,
May 11" 1821 at 90 days - but your prompt
attention in remitting me the draft at sight
for 160,75/100 Dollars closed the account, as
acknowledged in my letter June 4" 1821.

The account between us I believe now
stands as stated on the annexed page. -

As to the time of Credit I have really
forgotten [unclear] not Gentlemen, it is

as you have stated (Six months) and therefore
accede to it - Should the annexed account
not prove correct, and the above explanation,
of what I presume to be your mistake,
not be satisfactory have the goodness to
let me hear from you as early as prac-
ticable. - with much respect, I am
